Notes from General Board Meeting on Tuesday, August 22nd
Member and Board Candidate Sandra Ellis and Farmers Insurance Broker Patrick Prendiville participated in the Executive Session Board Meeting despite no agenda items regarding Farmers Insurance policies with the Association, and no agenda item related to Sandra Ellis. Not sure if they were privy to legal matters, hearings, or homeowner disputes posted on the agenda.
Homeowners Forum: I mentioned that homeowners should be aware that homeowner IDR (Internal Dispute Resolution) requests are not being addressed by the Board at least in my case. The Board through its property manager says that IDR is accepted, but then never holds a meet-and-confer or meeting to address homeowner concerns. Instead, the Board forces a homeowner to ask for ADR which then necessitates the homeowner to spend approximately $1000 to have formal mediation to discuss things like tree roots. The Board sat silent.

Disclosure that all board agenda items will not be discussed tonight.
International Day Update.
Notification of Director Gondi’s resignation.
Apparently there may be a new property manager for Sevilla. Sadly, she wasn’t introduced to a few of the homeowners attending. If she is the new property manager, the failure to welcome her was insulting not only to her, but an embarrassment to us.
Apparently, the Board will be scheduling Town Hall Meetings to discuss CC&R and By-Laws changes. Unclear if Town Hall Meetings will be limited to that topic.
Tinnelly Law Firm Invoice approved. Let’s see. Tinnelly left us 9 months ago.
The Annual Election materials were to be mailed August 24th. According to the Board President, the election materials were reviewed by the law firm, then the board president, then reviewed by the law firm again, and then by the board president again, and possibly one more time by each. Don’t understand why the other board members weren’t mentioned. Seems like they weren’t consulted.

Tree Trimming Bids – 2 bids; 1 Small bid, 1 larger bid (3 year plan)
Vent in Pool Room – Will get bid to close up hole.
Furniture Repair in Pool Area – Tabled
Website Disclaimer to Homeowners – Suddenly the discussion got really quiet so that I wouldn’t be able to hear what the board members were conversing about. Don’t why they try to be so secretive? Apparently, the Board wants to send out a letter to homeowners indicating that this website is not an official website of the Association. OK Big Deal.
